It's no secret that we here at WC have a soft spot for the Muppets. So when I came across this painting the other morning, I knew it had to be posted. It's drawn by British artist Jim Jeroo. His picture account said there should be prints up for sale soon, so if you want one, keep your eyes open.
This next piece comes via MSNBC and Brian Williams...hey, who said comic nerds don't watch the news? (Well, actually, we don't; I found this off Bleeding Cool. That's news, right?)
Anyway, in this short, online-only clip, Williams takes Frank Oz, the last of the original Muppeteers, to a set of pipes that were painted by Jim Henson and crew when they were still working "The Jack Paar Show" for NBC. It's a touching and bittersweet moment for Oz and for anybody who grew up with the Muppets.
For the first time in my life, I actually want to visit NBC Studios. If you want more, Bleeding Cool is also hosting a clip of Jim Henson visiting the pipes with Gene Shalit.
